A woman requested a bag like my double flapped bags except with a wide strap. A wide strap pretty much requires a gusset to attach it to - something these double flapped bags didn't have. So, I proceeded to design just that - a double flapped bag with a gusset. It has two large pockets - one is under the flaps and another full width pocket on the inside back of the bag. The moccasin cowhide leather that it was built with is soft, yet strong and long lasting. This shoulder bag is made with 100% American made leather. There is no hardware, sewing/thread, etc. in it. Most every bag that I build is a one of a kind. The cost of a bag, like pictured just below, is $290. If I braid the flat strap down the center of it the cost would be $320.

This bag is about 11" wide by 9-1/2" high by 3-1/2". Here it is next to a ruler.
In this picture both flaps are raised to show the front outside pocket under them.
Here, one flap is raised showing the main compartment.

This picture shows the tassels/fringe at the strap attachments. The woman set the length of the fringe.
Here is a picture of the double flapped bag that I've mentioned above. It is linked to it's own page of pictures and description.
Here is this bag built using my Mahogany leather, although it doesn't look quite as dark as Mahogany in these pictures.
Here are pictures of the bag with one flap raised, then with two flaps raised, and a side/back view. All click to larger views.
The purse below is made with four of my colors. The darkest color is called Brown. It is used on the top flap and on other applique braids. The top flap itself is Mahogany. The color Rust is used around the under flap and other applique braids. The color Walnut is the lightest color and is only used for some of the side tassels of this purse
