canteen bag
Having seen bags like this (at motorcycle rallies) it's the only name for it that's ever come to my mind. That fact came in useful when the woman was trying to describe what she was looking for. Next to it is a Harley Davidson air cleaner that is for mounting on its side - I think it's also a nice bag without the air cleaner. On the other side of the bag, like in the other picture, is a pocket. This bag is about 9" in diameter by 4", but, it could be made about any size. It has a braided flat strap that can be made to any length. It's made of moccasin cowhide leather that makes it both strong and durable. It has a large (YKK #10) brass zipper.
The woman purchased this bag for a gift. Because of that I didn't know how long the owner would like the fringe to be, I made it extra long. Because it was so long, I tied the ends of each fringe with an overhand knot to shorten it some- a little quirk that I thought she might like ...or can change.
