A guy from Texas visited my web site and then contacted me and said he wanted to purchase a purse for himself. I emailed him back saying that I could build what he was requesting and this picture is the result of our collaborating about the design. Later, when I was about to send it to him he expressed some hesitation about it being called a purse. I explained to him that I think a fashionable name for it was 'man bag'. I also thought that would be a good key word for my site even though, throughout our discussion, I've thought this bag would suit a woman as well.
What I particularly like about this style, as well as several other styles that I have, is that it is built with 100% cowhide leather. It has no hardware, no lining, ...not even any thread.
The dimensions of this bag are about 14.5" wide by 12" high by 4". It has four pockets - one full width on the front under the flap that is 9" high. There is another full width pocket on the inside back that is 9'5" high. That inside pocket is gathered a bit at the bottom to accommodate it holding more. It also has the two pockets on the sides that are about 4" wide x 6" high. These side pockets are also slightly gathered to hold more. This bag can be made with a variety of pockets both inside and out.
This particular one has a 45" long braided shoulder strap.
The cost of a bag, like pictured just below, is $540.

The guy that ordered the bag above was so happy with it he ordered another similar one for his wife. It's a bit smaller and is made with the Chestnut colored leather. The dimensions of it are about 12.5" high by 11" high by 3". It has a full width pocket on the front under the flap, and the two side pockets. It also has a large full width pocket on the inside/back
As usual about my work, it is completely handmade - no electricity is used in it's construction.
This large Black leather bag was purchased by a woman. She decided what length of strap she wanted, as well as, about the fringe. It's dimensions are 12.5" high by 11" high by 3". It has four pockets - full width ones on the front and inside/back, and one on each side.
Here are two views of one made using my Mahogany colored leather. It's about 14.5" wide by 12" high by 4". It has the two side pockets, a full width pocket under the flap, and another full width one on the inside/back.
While this style accommodates a lot of pockets, I do recommend that they not be put back to back on the same 'wall' because pockets like that have to rather compete for the same space.
Here's a similar one of these bags with an open top - no flap. It has pockets on all four sides and a strap that is braided down the length of it.
Like the applique on the flap says, this large leather man bag was built for 'Lu' who happened to be a guy. Made of 100% leather - it has no hardware, lining, or thread. Nor does it have any pockets ...just how the guy requested it.
