Of all the braided leather vests that I have custom designed and handmade for western wear and motorcycle apparel (hundred's of them) one would have a difficult time finding two that could be called the same. I make these with several different lapels or yokes on both the front and/or back. Different lengths, too. People like pockets. I've used as many as six on a vest. Two high, two low, and two large ones on the inside that take up the whole lower front. The American made moccasin cowhide leather that I use is really nice. I offer to send a swatch of it to anybody that is interested in seeing it. Check out my guest book on my home page to see what different folks have to say about the vests they have purchased from me.
This vest, built with 4 oz. moccasin cowhide - the seams, edges, lapels, back yoke, pockets and their flaps are braided with 1/4" wide lacing that is cut from the same leather that the vest parts are cut from. This high quality, soft, full grain leather makes for very durable - long lasting garments.
Over the last 40 years, I've custom built hundreds of vests. You can see over 50 of them on my vest's home page. While they are all braided, that's pretty much where their similarities end. After seeing the many features I offer, folks contact me with their own ideas/designs and we discuss how I should build one for them. Each vest ends up truly being a unique, handmade, long lasting, one of a kind piece.
